According to aa Resolution CEPE-A-001/2024, “multi-institutional centers that bring together a significant number of researchers with different experiences, developing research at the forefront of knowledge, initially financed by research funding agencies and/or through partnerships with companies, with possibilities of self-financing through new partnerships and provision of services, and may develop activities of a permanent nature, are considered to be Large Thematic Research Centers. In addition to research, such centers must have a strong focus on academic excellence, dissemination of knowledge, innovation and international collaboration”.
