Vice President for Research

Ana Maria Frattini Fileti is a chemical engineer, graduated from the State University of Campinas in 1989. She holds a master's degree (1992) and a doctorate (1995) in Chemical Engineering from Unicamp. Since then, she has worked in the area of ​​control and automation of chemical processes, developing artificial intelligence applications. Professor at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering (FEQ) from 1996, she became a full professor in the area of ​​Process Control in 2000, and Full Professor in 2016.

She is a CNPq productivity scholarship holder in Technological Development and Innovative Extension (2020-present). Author of the book “Tudo sob(re) controle – Fundamentos e estudos de caso”, published in 2023 by Editora Blucher, and awarded the Jabuti Academic Award in the “Engineering” area, in 2024.

At Unicamp, she was coordinator of the postgraduate program in Chemical Engineering and vice-president of the Central Postgraduate Commission (2001-2002), head of the Department of Chemical Systems Engineering at FEQ (2003-2005), Associate Director ( 2005-2006) and Director of the Multidisciplinary Center for Chemical, Biological and Agricultural Research – CPQBA (2006-2009), advisor to the Dean of Postgraduate Studies – PRPG and president of the organizing committee of the Teaching Internship Program (2013-2015) , and Director of the Inova Unicamp Innovation Agency (2021-2024).

In 2016, he presided over the 15^th IASTED International Conference on Intelligent Systems and Control. He was a member of the CAPES Engineering II Assessment Committee (2010-2014) and served as a specialist designated by the State Education Council for the recognition of undergraduate courses in the State of São Paulo (2008-2014).

In 2023, he received the “Zeferino Vaz” academic recognition award from Unicamp and, in 2019, the teaching recognition award for his dedication to undergraduate teaching. In 2020, he received the “Inventor Petrobras” Award.

Graduated in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (1981), he holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering also from Unicamp (1984), Doctor from the Université de Paris XI, Orsay (1987) and Associate Professor from Unicamp (1992).

Since 1999, he has been a Professor at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering (FEEC) at Unicamp, of which he was Associate Director from 2003 to 2007 and Director from 2015 to 2019. He was a Visiting Professor at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Metier (CNAM/Paris ), at the Université de Paris-Descartes and at the École Normale Supérieure de Cachan, France. He was President of the Brazilian Society of Telecommunications (SBrT) from 2000 to 2004. He received the “Zeferino Vaz” Academic Recognition Award, 2008 edition, and the PROEC Award, 2020 edition.

He set up at Unicamp the Laboratory of Signal Processing for Communications (DSPCom) whose research interests concern the theory and methods of signal processing, filtering and machine learning, as well as their potential applications.

Graduated in Physics from the State University of Campinas (1984), Ph. from Campinas (1991).

He was Visiting Professor at the Institute for Theoretical Chemistry, University of Texas, Austin-TX, USA (2000-2001).

He is currently Full Professor at the Institute of Chemistry at Unicamp.

He has experience in the areas of Physics and Chemistry, with emphasis on Theoretical Chemistry, working mainly on the following topics: simulation by molecular dynamics, statistical thermodynamics, structure and dynamics of liquids, dynamics of proteins.

He is director of the CEPID/FAPESP Center for Computational Engineering and Sciences.

Graduated in Biological Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas, Master in Food Science from the Faculty of Food Engineering at Unicamp (FEA), specialist in Enzyme Technology from the Osaka Municipal Research Center, Japan, PhD in Food Sciences from the Faculty of Engineering of Unicamp Foods (FEA), with a postdoctoral degree from the Ohio State University, OSU, Columbus, United States.

She has been a professor of Food Biochemistry since August 2006, at the Faculty of Food Engineering at Unicamp (FEA), where she teaches undergraduate courses in the area of ​​Food Biochemistry and Biotechnology Applied to Food, and two courses in the graduate course at FEA , and is responsible for the Food Science Program.

He has published 134 articles in specialized journals and 239 works in annals of events. He has 22 book chapters and three published books. He owns six technology patents. He participated in more than 30 events abroad and 150 in Brazil. He organized 24 events in Brazil, being president of the Latin American Food Science Symposium, created in 1995. He was president of the World Congress of Food Science and Biotechnology (2003) and of the Journal of Food Science (2005/2007).

He supervised 31 master's dissertations and 38 doctoral theses, seven post-doctorates and 35 scientific initiation works in the area of ​​Food Science and Technology. He received the Capes Award for Theses in the Food Science Area twice, in 2007 and 2010. He received the Zeferino Vaz Academic Recognition Award twice, in 2001 and 2009. He coordinated more than 30 research projects with funding from Fapesp, CNPq , Finep and currently coordinates two Fapesp projects and a CNPq Edict Universal project. He coordinated Finep infrastructure projects for the creation of FEA Integrated Laboratories in the Biotechnology and Natural Products Areas.

Since 2007, she has been a CNPq level 1A researcher. She was an advisory member of the coordination of the Agricultural and Agribusiness Research Program – COAGR-CNPq (2012-2015). She is an elected member of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFOST) from 2008 to date. She served as coordinator of the graduate program in Food Science at Unicamp (2011-2013). She was elected president of the Latin American and Caribbean Association of Food Science and Technology (ALACCTA). She was director of the Faculty of Food Engineering at Unicamp (1998/2002 and 2006/2010).

He chaired the Brazilian Society of Food Science and Technology – SBCTA (2005/2008). Coordinated the Food Science Program at Unicamp's Faculty of Food Engineering (2005/2007).

He was head of the Department of Food Science at the Faculty of Food Engineering at Unicamp (1996/1998).

He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry (1976) and completed a doctorate in Organic Chemistry (1981) at Unicamp. She completed postdoctoral work at the University of California, Berkeley (1982/1984).

He implemented at Unicamp's Institute of Chemistry (IQ) the line of research in the area of ​​stereoselective synthesis of natural products and drugs.

In 1989 he was awarded the Union Carbide Chemistry Incentive Award and in 1999 the Silver Jubilee Award from the International Foundation for Science, Sweden. In 2006 he received the National Order of Scientific Merit, Commander category.

He served as a visiting researcher at the Georg-August Universität, Göttingen, Germany (1994) and as a visiting professor at Warwick University, England (2005). He was a member of the scientific and technological committee of Rhodia S/A and editor of the Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society.

He was director of the Institute of Chemistry at Unicamp (2007/2009).

At Unicamp's Gleb Wataghin Institute of Physics (IFGW) he completed his bachelor's (1979), master's (1981) and doctorate (1985).

From 1986 to 1988, he held a postdoctoral position at the Università di Pisa (Italy).

He has been a professor at the IFGW since 1999.

He is coordinator of the Lasers and Applications Group of the Department of Quantum Electronics at IFGW, where he works in the area of ​​Optics and Atomic and Molecular Physics.

He was editor of the Journal of Applied Physics and Instrumentation, of the Brazilian Society of Physics, and is currently a member of the editorial board of the journal Infrared Physics and Technology (Elsevier Science).

He was head of the Department of Quantum Electronics (1994/1995), associate director of the IFGW (1995/1998) and director of the IFGW (2002/2005 and 2010/2014).

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of USP in Ribeirão Preto (1974), where, after doing medical residency, master's (1979) and doctorate (1981), he worked as a professor from 1985 to 1989.

Between 1987 and 1989, he completed a postdoctoral internship at the Yale School of Medicine, Yale University, USA.

In 1990, he joined the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Unicamp (FCM), in the Department of Internal Medicine, where in 1996 he was approved in a public competition for full professor in Hematology and Hemotherapy.

He was director of FCM from 1994 to 1998.

He has more than 500 works published in journals with international circulation and has received several awards for scientific production, among which the Scientific and Technological Merit award from the Government of the State of São Paulo, in 2000, stands out.

He has been an AI researcher at CNPq since 1990.

He completed a course in Electronic Engineering at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (1962), a specialization in Digital Data Transmission at the Philips International Institute For Technological Studies (1963) and a doctorate in Solid State Physics at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (1970).

He was a full professor MS-6 at the State University of Campinas, and has experience in Physics, with emphasis on Condensed Matter Physics, having worked mainly on laser, detectors and infrared topics.

He completed the Electronic Engineering course at the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), master's and doctorate at the Institute of Physics at Unicamp, postdoctoral at the Universitá degli Studi in Rome, and worked for two years in Holmdel, New Jersey at Bell Labs (1986 /1987).

He is a professor at the Gleb Wataghin Institute of Physics at Unicamp, where he was Director (1991/1994 and 1998/2002).

In 1996 he was appointed President of FAPESP and reappointed successively in 1998 and 2000.

Since 2005 he has been Scientific Director of FAPESP.
