Holds a Bachelor's and Licentiate degree in Geography from the State University of Londrina (2002-3), and a PhD in Geography from the Institute of Geosciences at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp, 2008). Professor at the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FCA) at Unicamp since 2012, where he obtained his Habilitation in Society and Environment (2016), and has been a Full Professor since 2025. Professor in the Postgraduate Program in Geography at the Institute of Geosciences (IG/Unicamp) and in the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program in Human and Social Sciences (ICHSA/FCA/Unicamp), which he coordinated for two terms (2014-2016; 2016-2018).
He is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Geograficidade, from the Humanistic Cultural Geography Research Group (GHUM), of which he is one of the leaders. He coordinates the Laboratory of Geography of Risks and Resilience (LAGERR) and NOMEAR – Phenomenology and Geography Research Group. A CNPq Research Productivity Fellow since 2021, he is active in various scientific associations, notably the National Association for Interdisciplinary Research and Graduate Studies in Social Sciences and Humanities (ANINTER-SH), where he served on the board for two terms (2017-2018; 2019-2020).
He has worked with phenomenological perspectives, discussing ontology, epistemology and literature, in search of theoretical-methodological approaches to contemporary interdisciplinarity. He is interested in the interface of urban, environmental and population studies, especially mobility, risks and vulnerability and experience in the processes of environmental change.
