FAPESP’s Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centers (RIDCs) must conduct bold, disruptive research of international excellence on relevant topics in their field of knowledge, so that they can become World Class Research Centers. The Centers’ activities must also contribute substantially to the training of qualified human resources in strategic areas for the country. The RDCs must also establish a clear strategy to accelerate the convergence of research efforts and their appropriation by society, through innovation and dissemination.
Considering that FAPESP finances other projects with similar conditions, themes not yet covered by the CEPIDs, Applied Research Centers (CPA) and Development Science Centers (CCD) already approved and in force at FAPESP are valued.
In this Call, a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 Principal Investigators (at least 20h/week) are considered, in addition to the Responsible Investigator (at least 30h/week).
FAPESP's annual support to a Center must not exceed R$10 million per year for a period of 5 years, totaling up to R$50 million per proposal. FAPESP may select up to five proposals in this Call.
The presentation of Pre-Proposals at SAGe must be made by 29 April 2025.
