FAPESP Agency – FAPESP announces the 2022 edition of the call for proposals with M-ERA.NET, the European Union (EU) network to promote research in materials science and engineering. This is the eighth opportunity for collaborative research launched by FAPESP and M-ERA.NET since they signed a cooperation agreement science in 2015.
The M-ERA.NET consortium funds research and development, transnational and high-risk projects.
The new notice aims to encourage ambitious transnational projects in research and technological development that address studies and innovation in materials – including materials for energy generation and storage. The call encompasses six themes: “Materials for energy”, “Innovative surfaces, coatings and interfaces”, “High performance composites”, “Functional materials”, “New strategies for technologies based on advanced materials in health applications” and “Materials for electronics”.
Submissions must follow the rules and guidelines of the Regular Research Assistance modality. FAPESP will support the São Paulo part of the selected projects with a maximum of R$ 150 per year per proposal. Surveys may last a minimum of 24 months and a maximum of 36 months.
Each proposal must be composed of a consortium involving a lead researcher affiliated with a higher education or research institution in the State of São Paulo and at least three lead researchers from at least two different countries who also participate in the call.
This year's call will not require an email eligibility inquiry. Interested parties must submit a pre-proposal simultaneously to M-ERA.NET (accessing the original notice of the call) and to FAPESP, through the Management Support System (SAGe). It is necessary that the coordinating researcher of the international consortium be registered with SAGe.
The deadline for submitting pre-proposals is June 15th. In case of acceptance, researchers will be invited to send the complete proposal until November 17th.
