PIBIC Award for Scientific Merit

The Vice-Rectorate for Research at UNICAMP will appoint an Internal Advisory Committee responsible for the pre-selection of the best papers submitted to the XXXIV UNICAMP Scientific Initiation Congress. This committee will be composed of representatives from the areas of Arts, Humanities, Biological Sciences, Exact Sciences, and Technology. Within each area, this committee will be responsible for classifying the papers that stand out for their scientific quality. In each area, approximately ten percent of the UNICAMP students who applied for the PIBIC Award will be selected.
The submitted works will also be evaluated by doctoral students from UNICAMP and external professors during the in-person event.

In November, a second evaluation phase will be held, in a virtual format, only with selected students in each of the major areas.

The External Advisory Committee representing CNPq, composed of professors from other universities, will be responsible for evaluating the pre-selected candidates and choosing the best works presented by UNICAMP students.

The 20 students awarded the Unicamp Scientific Merit Award will receive a cash prize of R$ 3.500,00 (gross).

Furthermore, the students and advisors of the 20 projects ranked after those awarded Scientific Merit will receive a Certificate of Honorable Mention as a form of recognition, without monetary prize.
